Thoughts on Les Miles over the calendar year:
I'd say it was pretty mixed emotions of like and dislike for the guy. After the JJ bar incident, many turned against him and says he has no discipline, no control over his team, Saban would never let that happen.
We go 13-0 and absolutely destroy every team we play minus Bama. Things change to Miles is a great Coach (though a few people are upset over JL not playing). We are so glad he's the coach. He's handled all the adversity to perfection. He is very personable, family man, players coach. Why wouldn't you play for the guy? There is talk about him already being the greatest coach in school history. Miles has Saban's number now, and Saban is a dick who never has any fun, etc. Bama, you can keep him. We have our guy!
We get our arse kicked in the National Championship to Saban. Miles sucks. Fire him. He's an idiot. Why would any quarterback or receiver want to play for him. Saban is so much better.
The cycles of moronic LSU fans!

Isn't it the other way around? I think Miles and the staff did a pretty damn good job (minus Monday night) on winning as much as they did with the half-witted QBs they had. I wonder if Jefferson could hit the broad side of a barn, and Lee (as much as I personally admire him) just crumbles at the sight of pressure. I can't imagine how much of the playbook had to be eviscerated to try to get some offensive production.

The way I always felt about Miles;
He came into a program not far off from a NC and was doing great in recruiting. He kept up the recruting and continued to surround hiself with GREAT talent. Just like Bobby said, with all that talent how can you screw it up.
Over the 7 years, he has done just as many good things as bad things. He's faltered with the game in his hands on a few occations. But talent always prevailed him. Monday night was just another example of him faltering. Wins shovel the dirt on the mistakes, but when things like this happen, they start to become a topic again.
Miles is no Enigma to the coaching world. There have been college coaches like him before, winning with talent, but overtime the hic-ups keep happening. I fear we become a Miami or ND overtime.

Right. He came in not far from a national championship and we just finished the season not far from a national championship. This program is far from turning into Miami or Notre Dame.
