it would be sweet if next season JJ could lead us to a 11-1(LSU 05') record and a trip to the SECCG.

Pisces, do you see any paralles with Mauck and Craig Krenzel of OSU when they beat Miami for the ship

Yeah, not a bad comparison at all...

OSU '02 was the king of winning ugly and one could argue a decent comparsion between JV and Maurice, especially considering how their careers went down after their c'ship freshman seasons.

And Russell didn't make a TON of mistakes? whew! C'mon man... Mauck was a "great" Lsu qb! U guys grab at straws man!

sure he did, but he didn't throw an INT in 8 games in 2006, completed 68% of his passes and lead the BCS in passing efficiency without having a good running game. He beat #3 and #8 team on the road in 2006 and the #3 team in 2005 (when is the last time LSU beat a top 5 team on the road before JR?)

I think next year won't be the year...maybe after (I get the point you're making, but I wanna answer the queston). Also, many think '11 will be our year to do such, but according to many, Chris G will be our qb if that occurs. It is interesting to wonder if JJ plays through without any competition ala Herb Tyler or if JJ plays most of next season and then Garrett beats him out.

Man, I could of told you that was gonna happen to Justin Vincent. I was a sophmore in college at the time, the man was at bogies every other night. Fine for me since I'm a student, but not acceptable for him especially since the time period I'm speaking of was during the season. Maurice Claret had a whole other set of issues though haha

Ironically, with a losing team at Bama. Pigs flew, indeed.

The white girls loved him. It would have been hard for any man to stay out of Bogie's under his circumstances...but he should have known better. I honestly thought he'd end up rushing for 4,000 yards in his career. He barely ecliped 2,000, no?

Don't think so, the majority of his production was that freshman season. I'd say his career netted about 2200. But, yeah it tought to forego the temptation. If you are on scholarship to be LSU's feautre back, that is your job. He wasn't even messin with white bitches much, me and some of my friend hung out with a bit, he was there to get wasted from what we saw.

The funny part about JV is that in the '03 Spring game, I recall that he was rumored to be moved to defensive back. Also, going into the season, he was 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. I don't think JV realized that he was 9 months shy of being the SEC and BCS c'ship game MVP. That affects KIDS in certain ways. If that were me, I would have liked to think I would have worked twice as hard, realizing that I was going to have a target on my back and the subject of discussion in many a foim room. He and Broussard both ended their careers in a disappointing fashion, but 18-21 year olds, with little responsibility to be held to begin with, often muck that up. They're not the only ones, but yeah - JV should have stayed out of the bar and concentrated on becoming the greatest RB in LSU history.

Man,JR had a great Off line and LSU has always had great running backs Miles chose to pass that much!Instead of having a more balanced off!Mauck had 16 TOV...JR had 12TOV not much of a diff....IF Mauck needed to pass for 4500yds he could have! FLynn too...
