Not selecting a head coach who ran their own discernable system. We have had tourettes on defense for two years and no identity on offense this year. 32 has been phased out down the stretch. Our performance has been enigmatic to say the least, we don't know who we are or want to be, power, spread, passing, etc.

Saban, meyer, etc run their own systems and aren't disassociated to the scheme on the field.

Combined with his questionable decision making and tendency to meddle, not a good combination for Miles.

Count me in the optimistic but very concerned camp. frick herbstreit.

Disappointing.

If you have a CEO-type coach at least make sure the guy is a master strategist. Miles doesn't have the tactical or strategic ability to get it done at this level.

He hasn't shown it. I'd argue that even a National Championship last year (cough first 2 loss champion cough) was a disappointment, we were clearly the best team in the country and had all the stars aligned for the title. There isn't a coach in the SEC who could have screwed that up.

Didn't Saban recommend to LSU that they hire Houston Nutt?

I am no Nutt fan, but at least you know what his teams do well from week to week.

At LSU we will show flashes of great sets, looks, etc (Express packege, the power I with Scott/Williams, etc) and we never see them again.

We often don't see them again in the next half.

You have to know who you are as a team to be succssful. We try to get to cute on both sides of the ball and it's killing us.
