5 losses this year....4 were on the defense.
It's more complicated than that.

The offense lost many games in the first 3 quarters. The defense lost man games in the 4th quarter. Both were at fault, just in different ways.

The first part I believe you are accurate. I'm hearing there was friction for 2 years. What I'm hearing is Chavis was very concerned about stats and where his defences were ranked.To the point he constantly whined about passing too much. Which is ok. But opposite of what some are saying. Also their was no contract issues at all, none from my source.
Also Chavis was searching for a new home as early as right before the bowl game in 2014.
