Hate to say it, but this picture seems to show the headlinesman's view may have been blocked by the 2 (LSU/Ala) players at the 35.

So what about the author of the Bear Bryant book in the replay booth? What happened to his view?

I'm a D-1 official in another sport (and in a different conference), I can say with 100% certainty that there is no conspiracy against any team.

Of course you'd say that. Duh.

The SEC doesn't allow a official to call games that involve a school he attended and one missed or blown call can be the difference between getting a bowl assignment, or staying home after the regular season

I know for a fact this has happened MANY times. (LSU affiliated, BTW). I could go on and on about SEC refs and their connections to Bama and Auburn Alum/boosters, etc, but I don't want to get banned from this site. This is my personal playground when I'm slow at work.

I happen to be friends with the umpire that made the wrong call on the hidden ball trick play a few years ago at Alex Box...that call still gives him nightmares, nobody feels/felt worse than him...nobody. It's not a good feeling, and it's one you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy

HUGE difference in the amount of money/corruption involved in college baseball (which is several notches below minor league baseball) and college football. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

And your friend should feel stupid. He literally took the word of a player while not even looking at the play. What a dumb shite.

Trust me, nobody wants to bring that kind of shitstorm down on them and their family.

That's a little bit different than purposely

Never mind.

I'm out of this one.
