The problems appear to be coaching-related. I'm extremely disappointed at Crowton's play-calling. I can predict nearly 75% of what LSU is going to call
this board will never realize that every team in america says the same things about their offense playcalling and coordinator.

im not saying the Oline played well. they didn't by any stretch. Im just saying that there are some things that they can do scheme wise to help them out.
quote:

are the coaches to blame when ciron black gets beat one on one?
is the offensive line to blame when JJ moves in the pocket into the rush?
quote:

that guy has been around, knows the system, knows what he's supposed to do and is supposedly one of the top linemen in the draft. it's just pride and hustle. they don't have it for whatever reason.
how is coaching responsible you ask. if he "just doesn't have it", then plug in someone who does, or at least will give it 100%.
quote:

a player shouldn't have to rely on coaching to get psyched up for simple man to man blocking.
and a coach shouldn't allow a player that is not giving 100% to get on the field.
quote:

what difference does the drop make when there is no pocket?
how bout i challenge you to a race, i'll run forwards and you run backwards. I bet the farm that i win handily. I have explained it numerous times, with the 10 yd drop, the D-line doesn't have to go through the O-lineman, htey simply run straight up field until they are past the O-lineman and then a straight shot to the qb. and how fast can these D-lineman run 10 yards? a couple seconds for a slow one. meaning JJ doesn't even get to set his feet before the Dlineman are on him and the O-line has no chance...
Go back and watch the game. These are things that the coaches have to catch and fix.

that's the point. what pocket? he's scrambling around for his life back there.

plug in someone who does
and who would that be? it is possible that there is no one else any better. that we're playing the best we've got and they're not getting it done. when i see linemen get beat one on one, it usually means they're just not trying.

this i don't disagree with. there have been a couple of plays pointed out that might help things a little.

idk, but we've had a top 5 recruiting class pretty much since miles has been here. there should be someone there. if not there are MAJOR problem with recruiting, which falls back on the coach.

i agree...

then plug anyone in. Id rather have a less talented player that gives 100% every play, than a more talented person thats not trying

i agree with this too.

the way i look at it is this, i'm disappointed in the o line because i think they should be performing better than they are. if they do not show improvement against the less dominant defenses coming up, then there is some legit criticism somebody needs to face up to. until then, it's too premature to be talking about "throwing anyone out there" or replacing jefferson with shepard who clearly is not ready to take the reins.

people are acting like miles has totally destroyed the program when in fact, we're still a pretty darn good team. there's just no perspective whatsoever for this point in the season. this board has reached a new level of absurdity
