If you think they played their best players and played like a top 5 team tonight then you probably also believe Johnny Jones needs a 5 year extension.

Don't think anybody is saying any of those things. I think people understand it's softball. Sometimes you lose. Learn from it get better find your best players and be ready for the post season. Who cares if they look like a top five team now?

Agree they will have a fabulous season and no one will go undefeated in long seasons. Glad to see Beth giving everyone a chance to prove themselves and our young newcomers in action.

This.

Beth has done this every year. Remember last year in the 2nd game of the season, the ladies lost to Pacific 2-1.

They will need the bats of Sanchez, Springfield, and Doyle to back up Jaquish. Hope to see Corbello get the start for McNeese v. LSU tomorrow at 3.

I am wondering If they will pitch Corbello against LSU tomorrow. If she does I think we could use that emotion that she will have against her. again if she does pitch against us.

Griggs and Quinn (Statistically the WORST returning hitting 2nd baseman in the SEC last year) starting over Nicky Dawson

Hey Beth. Congrats on Les Miles'ing it. I know you're reading this

P.S: .658 hitter last year in HS last season with a .743 OBP. Nice. Guess coach knows best right Beth? I'm just a dumb Latino who doesn't watch softball though.

It's a fair question. When a national player of the year, consensus first team all american and one of the most dynamic players to ever wear the uniform is on the pine while walk-on's get PT, something smells. From all accounts Dawson has a great attitude and has incredible work ethic so something is going on internally for her to not see the field tonight. I can't imagine her being a problem or in trouble but it is apparent something is going on.

I went to both games tonight and I couldn't count the number of people asking or taking about why she didn't play. Her on the bench behind some of the players that started and got extended playing time would be the football version of Lanard Fournette playing in front of Leonard. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to anyone that follows softball.

I'm hoping it works itself out but tonight was not a good sign.

I'm only viewed as negative by those who refused to see reality. The reality is last season, we had 3 spots in the order that were high percentage outs and kept getting penciled in daily. It's good to see new ladies getting some opportunity today. Hopefully, the ladies got better and are more consistent than they were last season.

It was interesting to see a game changing newcomer get spot PR duties only today but, tomorrow is a new day. I'll reserve my objectivity/negativity until they get a few games under their belt.

Let's not start bringing facts into this Ashlyn.

How did she hit in the spring pre-season?

She'll play just like Beth said the newcomers will all play this weekend. When you say stuff most dynamic player in program history and will account for 2 or 3 runs a game when she's 12 innings into her career, you just sound stupid.

I attended every fall game open to the public and also went to two of the three spring games. In the games I was at she was one of the better hitters and always seemed to be on base. She was easily the most productive freshman. She had a home run and single in one game and a couple of hits in the other game. She is a game changer on the bases as shown tonight. No one else scores on the ball she did on the pinch run.

It was great to see Doyle hit well tonight. She has been disappointing so far and Springfield really stepped it up. They have to protect Jaquish for us to be good.

In the first game we had two of our biggest game changers on the bench in Andrews and Dawson. Andrews showed some of that big time ability in the 2nd game in LF. Why she was not in CF is hard to explain.

Think about this, in the CF, LF position in the first game we had Griggs/Thornhill with Andrews/Dawson on the bench. Griggs/Thornhill played great.

But that aside, there is no sober human on the planet that would not take Andrews/Dawson in that scenario. The other two simply do not have the physcial attributes to compete with these two freshman.

Stranger things have happened than tonight but something just isn't right with some of the decisions tonight. Let's hope tomorrow is a better day and the best players get on the field.

Somebody else can say something about runs scored, i did not, but there is no dispute that she is the most dynamic player to wear the purple and gold. LSU has never had someone that can do what she can do whether you like to admit it or not.

She's local so people are too close to the situation and all in their feelings. Similar to the guy last year who said Sydney Bourg was the best infielder in LSU history and she'll be an All-American after transferring.

That was last year when I was being negative. I'm excited about this team and will reserve judgment, if needed, until we get deeper into season and keep running the same underperforming line up out there when there are other options.
