If both coaches agree it'd be OK but, yeah it's dumb. Batters clock at 9 seconds dumb too imo.

By the end of the season, all of those saved meaningless innings might be a net plus for our pitching staff. We’ll have to wait and see if it makes a difference.

This is the first year SEC games have a run rule.
Non conference games have always been able to be run rule games if both coaches agree to it before hand.

I'm pretty sure that it's the visiting coach that makes the decision. Johnson has said many times that he doesn't want it
