While I agree it was an awful decision, IMO, it was even WORSE when he elected to kick the 45 yard FG against Auburn last year on 4th and inches and us trailing by one point. It only was not scrutinized because we won, but mathematically speaking, 4th and inches, in both cases, are converted about 90% of the time. Field goals are not. Not a 45-yarder and not on the field conditions in that ND game (did we not miss two FGs of less that 25 yards in that game - not to mention he barely made the 18-yarder!). Both times, poor calls.

24-17 LSU in a game that we dominate physically but will somehow be nerve racking til the bitter end and we’ll all still be left not knowing what kind of team we’ve got.
