Ah. You're a by the stats guy.
Unfortunately these two teams have such a huge gap in SOS, so stats are out the window.
I don't think it will come down to special teams, AT ALL.
LSU D will absolutely dominate the physical BYU o line. Too many freaks at every position for a talented and physical o line to have a huge impact if you don't have a couple of other weapons (RB, QB or QB, WR or even RB, WR)
LSU does have a huge weakness. LSU has a "weak" o line due to depth, which unfortunately for BYU doesn't matter too much during the first game of the season.
However I have heard that BYU is notoriously dirty, so perhaps it could factor in?

The offensive coordinator was fine in the Florida game.. 4 turnovers inside the 10 yard line cost LSU and not the fault of the offensive coordinator

Lsu will only loose 1 game and it's not to Bama. The Tigers will struggle at Florida and loose. The Tigers will upset the Tide in Tuscaloosa and win a hard fought 19 -17 victory. Hopefully by the Tigers loosing to Florida early and beating Bama late will spring them to the playoff picture.!
