Playoffs=? (Mora voice) What I would commision for the Ncaa

..... NCAA is in trouble .. look at the basketball FBI and more things.. players skipping senior seaons .. etc. etc.

WHAT I WOULD DO ....

NCAA can't follow the football model ... every sport has a different relationship with the pro level.. Baseball has a minor league system, basketball has not a system, but one league for development, and ncaa football serves as a last league before the big one ... so making rules universal are hard...but I would propse the following still:

ONE... I think players should be able to sell themselves all they want... no reason all students at a university can make any money they want, and these guys can't .... i mean all that money the colleges make and coaches make....

-- Key point.. make money from Nike, Adidas, Car dealers, Sports Illusstrated, etc.. BUT NO money besides common scholarship and Boarding costs from Unicersities..

Stop universities from paying them... allow them to do commercials and sell their likelness to whoever they want.... therefore they are not 'enslaved' but still mainatain amateurism ... as they do not 'make money playing football' specifically .. they make commercials or other ...

Also, can not buy recruits.. many recruiting rules still apply.. but once at the school ... who cares who hires them for legit work.. if a dealership wants to give them money .. that's their prerogative, not the NCAA's .... But penalties should be really harsh, if found buying recruits before on campus, then severe scholarship restrictions to two year hiatus status should be incurred



TWO... I used to love the bowl system .. and didn't want to lose them ...

but as any political progressive knows ... you turn the dial a little, not completely, to acquire change .... change it too quick... you get pushback .. turn it slightly ... then people get used to the newness of the new status quo .. and turn the dial easier...

The bowls have lost their luster... What is the Sugar Bowl? not sec v Big 10 .. rose bowl?

Championship games plus rose bowl in the same year in the same stadium??

Bowl games aren't what they used to be ... no need to protect them anymore....

change them to season opening game.. like the other 'kickoff games' .. and in england the Champions cup.. where the season winner plays the playoff winner... so to speak ... really a cup, but let's reduce the explanations...

my proposal ... 16 conferences, 16 team playoff teams in NCAA.... wouldn't want bigger.... and let's make the conference championships worth it ... I mean .. Sure at larges are 'deserving' like UGA this year .... BUT let's not go there. let's try to reduce upsets really .....

Let's not say XYZ team is deserving because they lost early on and now they are better than 12-1 NOP team ... let's not .... playoffs are very receptive to upsets... but let's not want that ... we want championship teams... and we want chmapions to win .... best way is to let already-champions (conference champs) play it out ...
