1. Deion Sanders was never a good tackler. This isn't really even debatable.
Sure he was never Ray Lewis, but it’s hysterical listening to yal talk like he was Tinkerbell out there. Would I take Peterson over Sanders in pure tackling abilities? Probably, but yal are overstating this edge for Peterson. There are multitudes of ways to hide a cornerback’s tackling abilities, but unless someone plays Peterson in a Tampa 2 (which would make them certifiably insane) then his tackling strength will never be a reason he dominates a game or anything like that.

2. He was never in consideration as a possible #1 pick like Peterson.
That’s just a dated argument, and anyone following the NFL for long enough would realize it as so. The game has completely changed and, as such, the value of a cornerback has evolved as well. There were five cornerbacks taken in the 1st round of last year. That should explain to you the worth of a cornerback, and why someone like Peterson is being considered (and it’s not overly seriously) as the top overall pick in an extremely weak draft.

3. He played for Dallas Cowboys a team that is specifically known for hyping their players, like no other team in the NFL. Had he gone to the Cleveland Browns after Atlanta, he would be remembered as a "Pretty good cornerback". But he played for America's Team
Would have no bearing on me personally if he played in Dallas or Mars, but I guess it’s really the only argument for people saying Sanders was overrated.
