Ryne Sandberg and Shawon Dunston for me. WGN has been on in Louisiana since the early 80s at least.

look at those standings lately?

Your teams only World Series was won by cheating. Even with the lovable losers the Cubs have been for most of history, they still have considerably more division titles, pennants and World Series wins than the Astros

Yep my Cub fandom actually began before cable got here but it only strengthened it when it got here when in the early 80's and I could watch every day.

After 2016 I would hear a lot of folks talking about bandwagon Cub fans coming out of the woodwork now that they had won, but those kind of statements were born of ignorance really. I've gone to about 10 road stadiums over the years since the 80's to see the Cubs and there is always a huge Cub contingent of fans no matter the stadium and no matter how good or bad the Cubs are.

Just a couple off weeks ago went to Phoenix to see the Cubs vs. D-backs. The Cubs are out of contention and about to sell off and there were literally over 3-1 Cub fans in the stands. When Contreras hit a go ahead homer in the 9th you would have thought you were in Wrigley it got so loud.
