No moral victories tonight...

Kentucky was there for the taking. Missed a ton of shots in the first half and we went scoreless the last 3-plus minutes. That was the difference in the ballgame. The only difference in the second half defensively was they made the OPEN shots they missed in the first half.

This team just can’t play good enough defense for a long enough period of time. There are spurts of good play but the breakdowns are just inexcusable. They are terrible at defending dribble penetration. NO ONE leaves their man to help and take a charge on drives to the basket. The guards are not blocking out on shot attempts to help out a very undersized front court. And every team since vandy has incorporated the same attack plan of getting Williams and Watford defending a guard. And wade, who made reference to this plan leading up to this game has not figured out a way to counter it. The most concerning thing is we’ve been outplayed in 4 out of the last 5 games. Vandy, Missouri, Alabama and now Kentucky have outplayed us. We stole the game against Missouri and we gave away the auburn game we seemed to dominate for 39 minutes.

They better right the ship against Carolina Saturday with a trip to a surging Florida next week or l don’t see this team making the tourney falling apart like this at the end of the year.
