We struggled this year against physical football teams like Bama and Arkansas. Teams that could pound the ball right at you with big physical backs. I haven't seen the progression in Welter everybody else sees. He catches the ball carriers (instead of striking the blow) and gets dragged down field. He is passive. He gets blocked very easily out of many plays. It would be nice to think Garrett or somebody else would be allowed to compete with him. When I think of physical defenses I can't see LSU ever being physical with Welter at MLB opposed to other linebackers like CJ Mosely or Minter.

And on Def? Has any player in the front 7 given you even the slightest chubby this year? What about at safety?
Hunter has beasted at times. I like the potential I see in Q Thomas.
Jefferson could be good. Haven't given up hope on Sandolph. I liked the Mills look at safety yesterday.
I think next year should be similar to this one with a more consistant OL. If we can get the OL to come back for 2015, we should be back to elite talent on both sides of the ball
