In the Jack Nicholson movie “About Schmidt” he gets restless ~3 months into retirement, puts on his best suit and tie, tells his wife he’s going to the office to “help with his files”. When he gets there the young boss says “what are you doing here?” and he spots boxes of his files next to dumpster out back. I hate to think Paul was just having a terrible time adjusting to retirement and said “yes” to Tanner when he should have said “no”, become an advisor, helped with their coaching search, whatever…
