Not this year. Maybe not for several years.

In case some of you do not remember the 2003 NC sequence of events, which will help you understand the resentment of LSU fans toward USC, Let me refresh your memory with the following:
1) before the final BCS standing was announced, all 3 coaches involved, Saban, Carroll and Stoops, got on national TV and said that they would abide by the decision of the BCS no matter what the result.
2) As soon as the final results were announced, selecting OU and LSU to play for the BCS NC, Pete Carroll and every USC fan around started crying like babies about the decision.
3) LSU dominates OU in the NC game, much greater than the score indicates
4)USC beat Michigan (ranking?) and claims NC.
MY opinion - USC had a very legitimate claim to have been in the 2003 NC game. I still do not understand how a team that loses it´s conf championship (OU) can be considered for the NC. But keep in mind the PAC 2 does not play a conf championship, therefore plays 1 less quality opponent each year than the coneferences that do play a Conf Championship game. EVERY Tiger fan would have loved for them (USC)to have been in the game as we would have beat their butt as well, particularly with the dominating defense we had in 2003. USC had never faced a D like that one. But the fact is that by acting the way they did (USC)showed a lack of class. They did the same thing in 2005 when Texas beat them fair and square and then Leinart came out and said that USC was still the best team despite the defeat. In 2004, Auburn had a legitimate claim to a place in the NC game but you did not see Tubby act in any way like Carroll did in 2003. Unquestionably USC has a supremely successful program but show a lack of class on a consistent basis. Simply put - they run their mouth too damn much.
Also, everybody harps for a playoff series, including USC. But do you know that the major reason that we cannot have a playoff system right now is because USC, the PAC 2 and the Rose Bowl will not agree to it.!!
Last rant, uh I mean comment, the people from Louisiana and California have differnt philopophies and outlook on most things, usually diametrically opposed. Many California people (although not all), and I work with a bunch of them, are "elitists" and consider Louisiana, and most of the South, nothing but uneducated hicks.
So it goes deeper than just 2003. It continues today and I do not see it going away any time soon.
USC - they win their championships in the newspaper
LSU - we win our on the football field
Have a great day!

You forgot one...ESPN proclaimed OU the greatest football team ever, and Josh Piehole was the next Joe Montana. I wish they would have beat Kansas and played us undefeated.

USC did abide by the BCS decision, and I missed all the whining and crying you claim their fans did. We had a legitimate beef on not getting to the championship game, but believe me if the shoe had been on the other foot, and LSU missed the game, but was chosen AP champ, they would have accepted it, embraced it and still be talking about it. No where did USC claim the BCS championship in 2003. I am glad LSU had the opportunity to win the game, but still find it hard to believe that after the Okla. beating Usc did not make it to the game.

Without Vince, UT would've been skull dragged by USC as well.
Actually if you watch that game closely USC should have won that game, that were screwed by the refs. Last time I checked in college football if your knees touch the ground you are down and everyone can remeber Vince throwing one of his TD passes from his knees. I'm sure I'm going to get hammered for this post but it's the truth.

how so?
And for the smartasses my comments were about how overrated the Big 12 is in major bowl games.
By the UT vs. USC comment, I meant in 2005. My point was that VY was the only reason UT won a title.
I'm just saying, if we were announced AP champs we would've bitched and moaned too. Get over yourselves.

Sadly, that's mostly true. Have you looked around teh state of Louisiana?
Great place to go to school, but I'd NEVER live there to raise a family. I did have a lot of fun while at LSU.

STFU you jealous child. How many cupcakes is Fraud Snyder going to schedule to ensure a bowl game....4,5???
LOSER.
BTW...to further embarrass you, most LSU fans don't hate USC.
YOU TRY-YOU FAIL.
This from a Kansas moron who cannot spell "t-h-e". Next time you want to mock Louisiana, bring a dictionary; if there are any in Kansas.
Seriously, why are you so jealous of Louisiana?
LOSER.

Because they lost a couple weeks earlier than LSU. That's all.

I live in the great state of Texas.

Why would I be jealous of the worst educated, worst customer service, and high crime state of Louisiana?
Like I said, great place to go to school because of the booze and women. But, I'm glad I got the hell out right after graduation.

FYI...
the hate for USC initiated with the 1979 game,
it just becomes a sore point with all the sss kissing by the media.
but that game was the real start.

...Yeah - thats a good one...lets take the best player off any team, and then we can say : "Hey , they wouldn't have won if only they didn't have their best player" What a bullshite argument.

My point is that the Big 12 is vastly overrated and the only reason they won their one BCS game recently is because they got lucky to have VY.

So that there is not confusion...from my experience, the majority of LSU fans have 3 favorite teams:
1)LSU
2)whoever plays ND
3)whoever plays USC

yes, i saw a local news channel recently indicating this fact: 7% of the nations population was considered obese. today, year 2008, over 37% of the population is obese. point, what was, was; what is, is!
What a bullshite argument.

if UT recruited Young and he played for them, how is that being lucky???
we all have bad days, we just much prefer the better ones!!!
