IMHO, With no proven QB an coaching concerns, LSU football will take a significant downward turn in 2010. Tell me why I'm wrong.? And please don't respond by saying "but we have Russell Shepard" Duh!

To protect JJ who can't make a decision?? Not!

we won't be any worse than 2009, we went 9-4 with jeff, no reason we couldn't go at least 10-2 this year Imho. So sorry your wrong

Your logic is flawed. Auburn will be better in 2010 as well as MS State..Ole piss will not. Arkansas will be better also, so status Quo will not result in a 9 or 10 win season..

To open up running lanes.
You should look into this thread
Jefferson v. Flynn
The numbers aren't so different between a NC QB and what we had last year.. the difference was that we had twice the rushing yards in 2007 that we had in 2009. When your O-line is undersized and serves as a revolving door, your RBs get stuffed and your team becomes one-dimensional.
Jefferson was our only semblance of offense last year and he was scrambling for his life on damn near every play.
If you want to put forth another response telling me why I'm wrong without providing evidence for your claim, I'm not going to waste my time with you.

Better O-line with a new nasty attitude. Better/younger defensive reserves will finally get a shot to start.

Ok smart guy, just how BIG does our offensive line need to be for JJ to be successful? I'm sure that translates into making good mental decisions???

A RUNNING GAME makes the QB more successful by hiding a QB's deficiencies. Your faulty logic is that you assume that the success of the team is solely dependent upon Jefferson's development, when in fact our better teams the last decade have been characterized by dominating defense and a strong running game.

Will not disagree with most of what you said, other than the fact that we had QB's that could think "on their feet" and make good decisions on what to do with the ball when it was necessary.

Dude you have to read, he's saying that the running game played a big role in mm and mf success

And Jefferson's best plays last year were made when he rolled out of the pocket, giving him a few more seconds that he just didn't have under center due to the revolving door of the O-line. Looking beyond that, we just didn't have a good team last year, bad route running, bad protection etc.

Assuming Wilkerson has been involved, I expect our o-line will be better coached in 2010. that could make a difference, especially if some of our RBs step up (still to be seen IMO). If we get some traction in our running game to take some pressure off JJ, he might improve some in 2010 (I won't write off the season based on the spring game).
Defensively, I like our LBs and DBs—our line, especially the interior linemen, are ... well, that could get tough for us.
I see a repeat of what I called for the 2009 regular season: 9-3/5-3.

Dude, you must not be seeing what I'm seeing. JJ can definately get it done,if he has alot of time, and no one is covering the receivers. He's got the arm!

OK, dude, then here's my take:
1.) No running game
2.) QB position not optimal (can't deal with "situations that arise")
3.)New O-line (no continuity)
4.)Russell Shepard (Where is he?)
