With all the news going on over the past couple weeks I have decided to finally post my thoughts on the rant for the first time. I hope y’all enjoy.

Offensively: I know it was tough for everyone to see SE hired. Majority of fans wanted a bright young OC who could develop QB’s and utilize our talent. LSU fans definitely deserve that. I do think though that SE will be able to develop MB/LN enough to where they can be a solid QB. I’m a believer in MB’s talent and I think he has a shot to be very good. I think at the least he can do what Etling did this year and be a “game manager” and try to limit turnovers while he develops throughout next season. I believe that Narcisse is more talented than Brennan but he’s not as polished. He has some accuracy/timing issues and needs help on his mechanics which may take another year to sharpen up. Brennan will probably be starting for us and I’m excited about that. At the least I think we can do what we did this year offensively with a lot more upside due to Brennan’s talent over Etlings. I know that our offense wasn’t too good this year but I think we’re gonna see some really bright moments offensively and some immature mistakes made by MB that hopefully aren’t too costly. As far as the O-line, RB’s, and WR’s go I think we will be fine. With the recruits coming in I believe they will be able to replace the guys we are losing. It’s gonna be a RBBC next year with Brossette/Clyde/Curry/Provens and I think that will be good enough.

Defensively: This recruiting class is going to help us so much for next year. We finally have a class that is defensive line heavy which we’ve needed desperately. This will give us much needed depth that we were lacking earlier in the season which cost us a few games in my opinion. Especially the Miss St. game. It was crucial that we resigned Aranda and as long as we have him our defense should be very good. I think we will be improved from last season especially in our front seven. Watch out for Tyler Shelvin next year. I think he will have a big impact. Secondary should be stacked. Safeties are set with Battle/Delpit/Stevens/Monroe. Nickel corner will be KJ or Kary. The only real question mark is who starts opposite of Greedy. I think we land Surtain and he starts as a TF. If he doesn’t start it’s up to Fulton or Kirklin or maybe Goodrich makes an impact as a TF if we land him. Either way Aranda will figure it out and make the right call.

Results: I think we will go 9-3. W’s will be Miami, Southeastern, Tech, Ole Miss, Florida, Miss. St., Arkansas, Rice, A&M. L’s will be Auburn, Georgia, and Bama. I have a feeling we have a chance vs. Georgia and I don’t really know why. And when Auburn is ranked high they usually have a poor season. A big downfall is the game is at Auburn and we haven’t won there since 2012 so we shall see.

I hope y’all enjoyed this novel. I didn’t realize how much I just wrote but I feel like I covered almost everything. Until next time!

Orgeron is going to need to go 9-3. its rare the opinions of this board are echoed by the gen pop lsu fanbase, but a cursory glance at any other LSU related site shows that this move is wildly unpopular.

9-3 seems to be a very unpopular opinion on the rant, however i agree with your take. I think Narcisse could end up starting tho depending on how Ensminger wants to run the offense and how brennan looks in spring ball. I also think 1 or 2 RB will separate themselves throughout the season and will start to get the majority of carries. Who that is however I am unsure.

I feel as if everyone is overreacting to the SE news and not looking at the offensive situation with clarity. It's seems every opinion is we will fall apart next season no matter what. I wasn't a fan of the SE hire either but I also don't think our offense will all of a sudden be really bad. I think its going to be similar to this past season. 9-3 if brennan is decent, 8-4 if our QB play struggles but our D will carry us through most games that we should win. 10-2 if Brennan develops quickly. I think mainly the reason why everyone is so frustrated with the hire is because LSU fans have been dying for a good offense for years which i can definitely understand. It's more emotional frustration in realizing SE could be another bad OC hire. In the end, I will still evaluate a coach fairly regardless of whether I think he is a good hire or not. This will be the last hire ED O and Alleva will be able to make if it fails too because they are going all in with SE.

no.

no one thinks lsu is going 3-9. everyone knows that Aranda is the glue holding this team together and that the defense will get us at minimum 7 wins.

but you are correct in that it will be up to the offense to determine whether this team goes 8-5 or 11-2.

I guess what I mean as far as overreacting to the SE hire is how many people will hate the results no matter what. It reminds me of when LM was the coach and we all knew nothing was ever going to change offensively so people wanted LSU to lose so LM would get fired. I feel most fans are at that point with EO & SE and hoping they do really bad and they get fired even though SE hasn't even had a chance yet besides last year as the interim OC. There is some merit to that argument but I think we're at a wait and see what happens with SE.
