I am saying it doesn't look like quite as questionable of a decision to me when the 3-4 hitters are lighting it up with men in scoring position (which they are supposed to be doing).

And I'm saying that still doesn't make any sense.

What's your argument here? That the 3 & 4 hitters can somehow magically hit better with a runner on 2nd or 3rd than with a runner on 1st? That having the 3 & 4 runners hit better with RISP somehow justifies giving up an out rather than have Laird try to get on base on his own (which happens close to 40% of the time when he's not bunting), in which case the 3-4-5 hitters would likely knock in 2 runs during such an inning, if not more?

The math just doesn't add up to support what you're trying to say.

P.S. -- And I'm going to have to end this discussion here, because my computer is freezing on TD.com right now for whatever reason, so I can't post more than once every 2 or 3 minutes, so I'm just going to log out.

I'm not arguing with you, I am telling you what my opinion was. You were the one trying to tell me my opinion doesn't make any sense. If you don't agree with it that is fine. Obviously the decision to sac bunt can go either way. There are coaches that go both ways.

Again, I didn't say I wanted Laird to bunt every single time he stepped in the batter's box. I simply stated I am not going to complain anymore when PM does bunt him. This was meant to be a positive thread about our hitters production with RISP, not a pissing contest about which strategy works better.

LSU is 6-1, be happy. Something is working.
