Not really.
He was good his freshman year, but he became a father, gained some weight, and lost his burst. He apparently rededicated himself in the offseason to getting in shape and it has brought his burst back.
I'm very happy for him, but lets not pretend like he was some world beater his sophomore and junior years.
Hard work pays off and it seems that is the case here. Good for Kenny, hope his stellar play continues.

Significant improvement over the last couple of years. He looked as quick and as fast as ever.

You could say that, but I'd say he got stuck in the middle of the other talented backs here. Losing carries, losing confidence - then he got lost in the shuffle. The fact he's stayed here, remained a fantastic team mate - and has now stepped up and become a leader shows what the guy is all about.
