And it was working for a while with Holman, but this staff isn’t going to have nearly the Ks. That means more balls put into play, more defensive chances, and with the wrong personnel more errors.

So that’s why Kling has to stay in CF and Milazzo should be the main C. I think he’s going to adjust enough for us to sneak into the tourney but he has to be willing to play a different style.

There are 300 college teams…I would be willing to bet that not every one of them has a defensive center fielder the caliber of Paxton Kling. The dude can’t hit and is basically an automatic out at the plate.

If it’s possible for other teams to not have a Paxton Kling and get by, then it’s possible for us as well. Will Bingham not make some plays that Kling would? Yes. But when it comes to the offensive side of the ball, they are in two different leagues.

The real kicker that everyone seems to forget about is, Jay has made it known throughout his career that he is willing to sacrifice defense for offense. Bingham is going to make the routine plays, so you gotta ask yourself how many other plays in a 9 inning game is he going to be involved in vs how many times he is going to come to the plate and have a chance to make a difference in the game. Kling is a late inning defensive replacement right now and the best we can hope for is some offseason improvement.
