JJ was one of many, and we have no proof he did more than any other guy that night.
JJ and Johns were the only two specifically identified. You can't expect the police to not arrest someone that is identified by the "victim". Again, had those charges been pressed against anyone that is a regular Joe in that fight and not an LSU player, they are arrested Friday morning after the fight, and not given several days to lawyer up and talk to police.

I agree that JJ deserves whatever is coming to him if he is convicted for what was alleged. That said, the media definitely blew this way the frick up because he happened to be the starting quarterback for a national title contender. All the shite that happened on his facebook page and his name getting smeared around in the media probably would've never happened had it been some random guy who got in a fight.
Jacquez Doucet is probably giving you the finger right now.

Right...you have no proof.
But, that doesn't mean the BRPD doesn't have proof.
They charged him because of witness statements. Which is extremely weak considering the elements of the incident. I'm more than sure that the BRPD don't have any new information that gives them a leg up on JJ's attorney.

If any more suspensions happen it will be after september 3rd. And it shouldn't be for long since only simple battery will likely be the only charges

You realize if it wasn't an LSU player in the same circumstances, they'd have been arrested the day after the incident right? On the same witness statements, right?

Honestly if this was any average LSU student this would have never gone this far and the cops would have just said that the kid got his arse beat and went on about they're business.

and he was singled out because he was known as the LSU QB.
He was singled out because multiple people claimed to see him there and some said he was doing it. They then seized his shoes, then arrested him. Think about that order of operations and what the police potentially have that leads them to believe he is guilty.

see my last post.
I've seen a gang of dudes kick and beat the shite out of a dude in tigerland while his SO cried about it. When the police arrived they asked maybe one or two questions and called it a day. Fights similar to this happen in tigerland from time to time.

It is not the cops decision genius. If a person presses charges, they have to follow them up. If the charges merit a crime, they have to be arrested. You act like because most people don't press charges, that the BRPD decided to just do this because it was football players.

Fact is, he isn't just another guy. That was more of a reason for him not to be in that position. You people claiming he's getting a raw deal need to get clue. The only people that got a raw deal here is the rest of the team that were depending on JJ to be their QB. He really left Miles no other choice but to boot his stupid arse.

Yup, because no one has ever filed charges after a fight. EVER!

Would Baton Rouge explode if more players were arrested this week? I say yes. DA could pack his bags IMO.

you're completely missing my point. Sure people file charges all the time. But, it honestly doesn't go anywhere... it just so happen this time the witness (who is friends with this lowery kid) said that Jefferson & Johns were the people doing the beating.
ETA: I still think it is complete bullshite that BRPD did not interview a single person who worked at shady's that night.

If they don't make themselves available it's not that easy. The cop went to Reggie's to interview other people involved based on a third person's testimony but no one was there.
How do you know:
1) Shady's employees were still there at this point.
2) They made an effort to talk to the police.
They conveniently waited a week to go to the papers and yet didn't go to the police themselves, then even when they make claims in the paper, neither will vindicate JJ completely.
I am not saying he did it, but if two people corroborate the story, and the others ran like pussies (which the players did, you can hear it on the video), you go with what you got, especially when the players refused to talk to you for 4 days.

Uhhhh - no.
Unglesby may be an AH, but he's a pretty good criminal lawyer. Buddy is developmentally disabled (but, very, very rich, which isn't bad).

This is what should have happened.

Think about this. Guy gets his arse kicked. He calls and presses charges, so police start interviewing witnesses. Usually no one can identify the random thugs/assholes that did the beating, so who can they arrest? This time the idiot that did the beating is THE frickING LSU QB. People recognize him.

The cop went to reggies looking for the silver chevy car that jefferson and johns left in. When he couldn't find the car he went back to shadys.

The cop showed up somewhere between the time of 1;50-2:10. Shady's doesn't close until 2 and bars usually have to clean up and don't officially close for staff until 2:30-45ish
I just find awful that it took yahoo sports & ESPN to interview shady's ownership and that the BRPD didn't do so. I really dont see any excuse for it at all.
