How does it compare to what our receivers were dealing with last year? TT should have gone out for the baseball team-he got an entire Fall fielding short hops. I don't really remember your critiques from back then, but I'm sure with ten of thousands of posts they were there.

Little difficult to tell from the noted post containing your dissertation on JL's flaws after we played the Ducks. Maybe I'm not as smart as you are either.

After reading your post this year, i would have thought this..

Drew Brees doesn't hit every damn pass perfectly.

You guys know as well as we do that pretty much every big time football program has their share of drunk a-holes, unfortunately it does seem we have a few more than most fan bases to be honest. A

I remember a time when someone wanted PJ Lonergan to start at center. T-bob was sucking badely and PJ played better. Someone felt that it was PC to play an announcers son and that was the reason for the situation. Pot calling the kettle black are we? Oh wait...I said black...

Who cares? Last year is over.

I'm an LSU fan. Why would I want Jarrett Lee to suck?

Right. Drew Brees also says he feels like he needs to put the ball within a 6-inch radius of the numbers and he's one of the most accurate passers in the NFL.

Lee is playing well. He still struggles with placing the ball in the right spot, even on completions. But he's getting better every week.

Don't know why but there are many posters who seem to be focused on insuring we fail.

That's sad.

I wish Jarrett Lee would throw for 400 yards a game at 75% rate with 60 TDs and win the Heisman.

And most importantly lead us to a perfect season.

It's really nice to see our passing game actually have a breath. Lee still has plenty to improve upon, but the early returns are really positive.

To me a lot of what you are talking about are "natural growth issues" as in any position on the field. I think by the time we see Bama he will be an incredible force to deal with. The season has been tailor made for his natural development. Just my 2 cents.

I'm glad he has one more tune-up game before Florida. He and Shep need more reps obviously. They'd better get them in during the first half, 'cause I'm not sure they'll play much in the 2nd half.

The Mildcats are having a tough season, fo' sho.

Statistically, Lee's numbers are about middle of the road. Competition wise, he definitely* has played the toughest slate.

Middle of the road statistically in the SEC. Competition the hardest. That at least puts him int he upper third. IMHO.

I just hope he can continue to get better, trust his arm and his reads, and make few mistakes.

I agree.

I'd want him over Relf and Brantley. Want him over anyone at Bama, Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss.

Garcia is a mixed bag.
Wilson is still unproven and didn't play well vs. Bama.
Bray is pretty unproven.

One thing is clear, it doesn't appear that QB will be galling weakness for this team as it has been since 2008.

This is not accurate - he places the ball where the defender cannot make a play on it. That is why you see what appears to be a pass that is off the mark - is actually exactly what Drew wants - it is indefensible. The 6 in radius refers to where he wants to place and that is not necessarily on or between the numbers.

A screen shot analysis of those two low passes to Shep would demonstrate very well that screen shot analysis of the ball as it nears the receiver does not tell the entire story.

This is exactly correct. There was a ball caught by Beckham in an earlier game that was thrown a bit low and behind him. Screen shot analysis would have made that look like a poorly thrown ball. I think it was thrown there by design because of the defenders position...of course, no way to know for sure.

The balls to Shep were thrown low on deepish post patterns...patterns that are easy for a receiver to cut shallower if the ball is thrown short. Because of where the defender was on both plays, the best place to throw those balls was short. Unfortunately, Shep did not shorten out the route in response to where the ball was thrown. We do not know where Lee was trying to place those passes, but they both ended up in a safe position where they could have been caught if the route was adjusted slightly.

I think this is one reason why many were agitated by the Oregon screen shot analysis. None of us fans know where routes were supposed to be run, whether Lee was trying to throw some of the balls away from defenders so that only the receiver had a chance, etc.
