I watched JJ throw them in the ground all through high school. Every game he would one and two hop his throws to receivers. I think thats why your seeing limited throws from him. I was never impressed with is arm/accuracy in HS.

All coachable. He has the tools to be great. I do however wish he had a little more zip in his arm.

He needs the confidence and swagger of Jacoury. Timidity will not work in the SEC.

However, he has thrown several "ground balls" so far to his receivers. (The first pass of the Vandy game comes to mind. Any higher and Lafell has a 30 yard catch.) He did it once or twice vs. Washington.
Is there any reason he does this other than his throwing motion, or is it one bad throw out of many good ones.
Maybe you should go fricking coach him.

That little skinny QB at Miami is the same age as JJ and can flat out sling the ball on a rope and hit a dime at 50 yards.

Sling the ball on a rope? Did you watch the game? Those passes were freaking beachballs on a gulf wind - IF THAT! Those weak lobs wouldn't penetrate anything more than a ACC Defense. Jacory (sp?) had a good game, no doubt, but by no means was he slinging strong balls.

Agreed. Much quicker/efficient motion. Progressing well. Since miles has been here I've been very impressed w/ his development and management of the QBs.

He's got a smooth motion and deffo has the arm strength. His motion is not too fast and his accuracy is still in question. All of these things can be improved upon by next year, possibly sooner.

First and foremost, he's a game manager with mucho upside. He's not throwing bullseyes to cb's, and we're winning.

That kid at Miami has yet to play an SEC caliber defense. And that might not be an issue for him this year. Next year is when he will be a factor. Just can't imagine Miami vs SEC Champion in the BCS Championship at this point.

You know who can "really sling it"?

Jarrett Lee.

There's a lot more to being a QB than having a pretty release.

The one thing I like about that is when he has bad passes they are in the dirt. Which yea it is an incomplete pass but its not gonna get picked off.

I much rather a "ground ball" than a "pop fly" LOL
