This is a typical Mainieri coached team but with just less talent than it usually has.
I'm not saying fire him or he isn't a good coach but his style of baseball doesn't teach fundamental hitting. He relies on timely hitting, pitching and good defense which is great when you have guys like in the past but THIS years team he might want to go watch ULL(As much as it pains me to say it) and how they manufacture runs.
Prime example last night:
Second and Third no outs and two batters in a row hit the ball to the left side of the infield.
If both those same batters had hit the ball to right side of the infield LSU would have scored two runs.
If first batter grounds to second baseman: Guy at third scores and guy at second advances to third.
Next guy grounds to second: Guy at third scores nobody on, 2 outs, 2 runs in.
Instead LSU got zero!

how’s Notre Dame doing???
Don’t let the losses to Incarnate Word and Seattle University fool you, they’re a damn fine team as evidenced by their split with Purdue and wins over Seton Hall, St Louis and Youngstown State.
