Anyone that questions Russell's heart should just go back and watch the Iowa game. Our offense was absolutely horrible, we had nothing done on offense with 2 different QBs. Then comes in the freshman, looking cool as ice, and makes tremendous throws one after the other. He was unstoppable and we should have won that game.

actually this game, as well as a few others, were indicative of Russell's ability to perform in a fast-paced offense that was in a pressure situation. Something the coaches never seemed to realize. Russell's struggles early in his career were early in games where the pace was much slower. I remember in '06 thinking we should run a bunch of no-huddle and just let him fire the ball.
As far as heart is concerned, most fans confuse emotion with heart. JR was not an emotional leader, but that has nothing to do with his heart, work ethic, desire.

Has anyone pointed out in 05 we played straight through every week til the SECCG after Katrina?

Flynn and Hester (for now).
Russell= over-rated.
Surrounded by great talent and what did he accomplish as the leader of the team?
The game at AU when he scrambled in bounds, then throws short of the end-zone defined his stupidity. He was stupid, but his talent around him bailed him out more times than not.
The Bama game- who was he throwing to, Doucet or Bowe? I doubt he was throwing to Doucet, but it worked out anyway.

Did you watch the 05 SEC Championship?
the one where JR got hurt?
and the LSU defense gave up 30+ plus points?
Yeah, the one where we were playing our 12th game in a row with no bye week, and with players that had lost 30 lbs that they were never able to gain back?

Only a 25-4 record as a starter. Only.

they were both open so it really didn't matter, he was also playing with a torn wrist ligament

He was stupid,
you are either the stupid one or are racist. Stupid QB's don't put up the numbers he did in 2006.

Did you watch the 05 SEC Championship? I was there, JR played most of the game and we never had a chance. The game was over before he came out. It was combination of bad calls and a better UGA team besides the Tenn game of 05 it was the most dissapointed I ever was leaving a LSU game.
we lost that game because Skip and Les flew to Dallas after practice on Tuesday.
Signed,
PJ

But the talent was there as evidence by players in NFL, 1st-rounders and '07 NC.

He lead them to the same record as Flynn did and had better losses and wins.

Russell was far better and had a better career. We didn't win the NC with him but we probably would have if not for hurricanes and officiating at Auburn.
Verdict is still out on Hester/Scott but I think Scott will end up having the better career.

we faced the hardest schedule in NCAA history in 2006, had no running game until late in the season, and put up the same record as 2007 against a much harder SEC

Nope, but Marino led the Dolphins to the SB, whereas Dilfer managed the situation. (don't foul up).
Flynn was hampered by injuries and some very questionable coaching.(Pelini vs. Arky and kenty)
