First LSU Game/Tailgate at LSU-Arkansas - Tips & Pointers??

Heading to my first SEC game and tailgate this Saturday against Arkansas. I've been to NFL and Pac-12 games before but have a few questions for you folks here...
1) Tailgating is totally new to us as its not something we do in Canada and I'm very excited to experience it at LSU. However, I have no idea how to participate. Do we bring a cooler witb beer and food? I have a friend who is an LSU alum who says you just show up and be social and people will take care of you. Obviously we don't know a soul at the game the expectation of strangers feeding me seems odd, but if that is how it works I am all in.
2) Is there a particular area on campus where most of the tailgating happens?
3) Any major highlights or "must sees" that are part of the LSU game day experience? I definitely want to check out the band coming down Victory Hill, but are there any other staple experiences that we should get on our list?
4) Traffic tips? I am guessing ~120k people getting out of the campus area is a bit rough at the end of a game. We are staying in New Orleans, what's the best way to get in and out campus from Lot 409?
Really appreciate any help you can give to enhance our game day experience. It's unfortunate they lost to Alabama last week, but the bright side is that it will be a night game now and that Arkansas is coming in pretty hot. Should be a great game and can't wait for Saturday!

If you walked around with a sign taped to your forehead that reads "I'm from Canada & this is my first SEC Football Game," would be be so full of gumbo & liquor by kickoff that you wouldn't be able to waddle to your seat. Seriously. Make T-Shirts or something. Or if that's a little too much for you, if you see something in a pot that looks tasty, walk up, explain where you're from, and I'll betcha $100 that the entire tailgate will fall over themselves to be hospitable.

Everywhere. I'd avoid the Parade Grounds, simply because it's Greek and they're not particularly geared towards visitors. But you'll see tailgating on every patch of available grass.

Band coming down Victory Hill, stop by Mike's cage early to catch a glimpse, get into your seats 40 minutes early so you hear Callin' Baton Rouge. Other than that, the "tradition" is to get drunk as hell and eat delicious food.

4) Traffic tips?
May God have Mercy on your soul.
