Unusual exhibition game. Guessing McManus is hurt, can't run. On his 2 base hits, he did the home run trot to first base. Then Gio ran the bases for him.

I don't think it will be a situation of Johnson necessarily cutting him from the roster; but depending on Beloso's goals, I could see him removing himself from the equation.

Despite how good he looked this weekend, I just don't see the at bats for him on this team. He is pretty much limited to either playing 1B or DH. Yes, he could play OF in an extreme need situation, but that is far from happening.

But Morgan, as of right now, is your 1B and Beloso isn't replacing him. As for DH, there are at least 2-3 ahead of him I believe depending on how you play things in the field. If Berry can't improve on defense, he has to be your DH for every game except maybe giving him some midweeks or something in the field. If he actually plays the field, then it is likely Jobert that becomes the DH; or if Milazzo somehow remained the starter at C, then McManus is your DH. Pearson is also a DH option if he doesn't win a spot in the OF.

So I think it is just difficult to find a place where Beloso can get consistent playing time. Therefore it comes down to how much does he just want to stay at LSU vs playing time.
