Is this Ground Hog day. I've been reading posts like this in every off season since the internet bulletin boards became available. Based on past performance, how many true freshmen has Miles depended on to change games?
Many

Here's what we can realistically expect from the next year's offense:
The QB position will be much improved, but I doubt that Shep sees the field as a QB except for perhaps some gimmick, "Wild Tiger" type formations. This year, we had one QB (Hatch) with any game experience at all, and that experience was negligible. We now have THREE QBs with significant game experience. All have started. We have to see wht happens in the Spring, but I would be shocked if Jefferson isn't your starter with Lee getting a significant # of snaps. I would also not be surprised to see Shep get on the field as a WR in his frosh year. Hatch will probably spend a lot of time holding a clipboard.
The OL will be fine. You have to add a year to the each of the players listed earlier in this post, so you'll have a number of SO players, but they have game experience and will play well. Ciron will be preseason All SEC if not All American.
The RB position will be absolutely sick. God help opposing teams if we can develop enough of a passing attack to keep them from stacking 8 in the box. In this respect alone, the offense has a chance to be truly explosive. Scott should EASILY have another 1k yd season, and KW has that potetnital as well if he gets enough carries. Michael Ford is supposed to be really special. I've seen film of Shep, and you can bet they'll try toget the ball into his hands on some screens or end-arounds a few snaps a game. Then you STILL have Murphy and Trindon. Pratt gets a RS. Hell, with this backfield, I would love to see Ford get a RS as well.
WR will also be a strength, even if we don't get Randle. Benton should FINALLY get to campus. LaFell will be all SEC, Tolliver should continue to improve, and we have some great talent coming in. I liked D Byrd, but he seems to have developed a tude and a case of alligator arms over the last half of this season. I understand the frustration with the QB play, but that type of mindset isn't needed here, and I'll be glad to see him move on if that's the type of character he brings to the locker room and on the field.
Now, the biggest improvement for the offense next year, IMHO,will be a new DC. Yes, I said DC. The less time the opposing offense spends on the field, and the fewer points that they score, the more pressure is put on the opposing defense. LSU used to wear teams down over the course of the game and dominate the fourth quarter. Hard to do that if you're down by double digits.
So, I believe that this offense does, in fact, have the potential to be absolutely explosive. We have the same question mark that we did last year (QB), but I think that we have the answer to that question in the form of JJ. I think we may actually have a good idea when they play later this month in ATL.

all this stuff of multiple wide recivers playing qb as well as a bunch of qbs on the field at once is just not gonna happen

if shep does not get play at qb I will be pissed.
He is EXACTLY the kind of qb that defenses have fits with. With outstanding rb's and wr's the ceiling is limitless

Debose, calhoun on screens out the backfield, shep lined up at reciver then qb, randle the same. Jefferson with randle, benton, tolliver, lafell, holliday. Scott, keiland, ford, murphy, pratt in the backfield
Who's on the line? You already got 16 behind the line.
j/k

As I've said, I've seen a lot of game film on this kid (Shep). He's really good. He's extremely fast, elusive, and has a great arm. But I've also seen him throw a number of passes that would get picked off against SEC defense. Regardless of talent, there is a learning curve. Jesus, you would think that some rantards would have learned by now that SEC EXPERIENCE MATTERS!

Ala Dennis Dixon. He doesn't' get hurt last year, and the Ducks are going to the NC game.
