I have to agree that the AR fans were particularly obnoxius after the game. My comment to them is have a little class and after a win be a gracious winner. And don't act like your team has never won a game before. Honestly, you'd think they just won the friggin Superbowl. After the Auburn game this year, I heard nothing but "good game" and "beat Bama for us". That was the way a winner acts.

Our idiots are just as impressive as their idiots. I've seen it every game this year at Tiger stadium, a few drunk stupid LSU fans acting... well... drunk and stupid saying everything imaginable to the visitors fans. However, it's not a lot of our fans that actually do that stuff. Other SEC fans have the same problem; a few fans that can't control themselves. They do make all fans look bad.

And yeah Hog fans, it doesn't matter what your state legislature decrees. The root name is derived from the state of Kansas; therefore, the correct pronunciation is "Ar-KAN-zus". Les has it right.
No, Louisiana isn't pronounced "Loo-WEEZ-ee-an-uh". Our state's root name is based on King Louis XIV, not George Jefferson's wife.
The name comes from the French spelling of the Akansea Indian tribe of Eastern Arkansas, otherwise known as the Quapaw. As the final "s" in French would be silent they spelled it Arkansas as opposed to Arkansaw. Besides, we were the 25th state and they were 34th, so we'll say it how we damn well please.
It would be akin to us pronouncing the "Louis" in Louisiana as "Lewis". If you permit Anglicization of a French name you wouldn't like the way most places in South Louisiana ended up being pronounced.
