NO. Defense will have to win this one. You will see JJ carry the ball at least 15 times this weekend.

No. JJ will start and turn it over on 1 if not both the first 2 series.

The Bama D will blitz the ever living hell out of Lee and make him make throws under pressure to beat them.

Then back to the JJ turnover machine.

I have a feeling Saturdays going to be a long day, hopefully with the bye week though we will be surprised.

By this point in the season, teams kinda are what they are. We are not magically going to become a dominant offensive team through a bye week.

Now, we can do some things to help facilitate some better offense.

1) Use our RBs properly.
2) Use our QBs properly.
3) Block and catch.

Do those things, and we'd probably be remarkably better on offense.

4) Disguise offensive plays
5) Try and set up a mismatch in the secondary just once this season.

I know, but if it did, we could actually manufacture a pretty good offense.

Let's face it. Nothing has improved...at all in the least little bit for 2 seasons. So, no. I have 0 confidence that LM will improve the O

Isn't sad when the concept of creating a mismatch in the secondary and disguising an offensive play is too complicated for a coordinator nicknamed "the Wizard?"

A good offense will keep opposition's defense off balance.LSU offense, with the exception of one or two trick plays per game, doesn't work. A good offense will, most often, put the ball into the hands of the players who can break it all the way.How many times per game does Shepherd touch the ball? He should touch it a minimum of 15 times/game.How many passes are thrown to Randle per game? Should be at least 10. How many passes are thrown to Toliver? Should be at least 7. So, what does it matter who we recruit and how good they are ? Right now their talents are wasted at LSU.

The answer is pretty much "no" at this point. Maybe things get better with Crowton gone, but I really don't know anymore. It's just plain sad that I cringe everytime that the offense steps onto the field.

Absolutely not.

Especially when Tulane, LaTech, ULM, ULL, etc. etc. etc. have better passing offenses than LSU.

No, no faith whatsoever. Miles(Smash Mouth Philosophy)+Crowton(Spread Philosophy)= Jalopy Cluster frick Version of a Power Spread. It looks like a Jalopy b/c our offense is an assembly of misplaced parts by not building around the core strength--running the ball. Obviously, we're unidimensional with the dual-QB scripted series. More often than not, with JJ under center Crowton is presumedly calling a limited set of plays that are based on that he has feels most confident JJ can execute. This is where the predictability begins. For example, how many games in a row, and how many times a game have we seen roll right option pass? It'd be nice to see Crowton have some more creativity on plays like this that he so often calls. I.E., when a blitz looks eminent, give the look that that you're going with the run pass option by flushing the pocket to the right, and once you have defenders rolling with JJ, bust their balls with a old-school screen to the halfback going away from defenders. My point, we do not catch defenses off guard by counteracting our tendencies. I am not blaming JJ for his sub-par performances, rather I blame it on the young man getting plays dialed in that do not fit his skill set. Further, he clearly displays poor pocket presence, does not get the ball to "hot reads" on an ensuing blitz, shows a tendency to pick his receiver before the ball is ever snapped, subsequently deadlocking onto one receiver. Never does he manipulate defenders with his eyes/pump fake, and there is rarely a progression to the 2nd 3rd read, or halfback often open in the flats. These skills must be ingrained by the coaches, it looks like shite how it is scripted for now. As previously stated, it would be nice to see our beloved tigers run an offense that fits the players on hand, not a predetermined philosophy from the so-called "Wizard". Take the NY Jets, for example. Bad arse defense with an offense built around the run--a clock consuming offense who will force you to load the box and stop the run, then have the ability for big plays with the play action. Scrap Crowton, scrap the ineffective power spread option, or whatever the frick that pre-scripted garbage that is equally confusing our fans as well as our own offense. Flush the predictable one-dimensional dual QB offense, get it off the fricking field! It's ugly, it doesn't win games, it doesn't make sense, and QBs get no rhythm, but it could work if run a NY Jets variation. (I'm a Saints fan damnit, but for sake of example they help the explanation) Employ an Air Coryell offense with the our dominating running core forcing you to stop them, and consequently opening up a variety of play action play with our deep vertical threat with our combination of big and fast receiving core, while also using a set of mid-range pass plays to the TE, our elusive slot receiver R. Shepard, or a check down the HB on a variation of routes. Of course, this offense is befitting for JL (the hypothetical mark sanchez) skill set as a pocket passer. Once the defense is forced not to load the box, it's time to give the ball back to our HB again because there will be better opportunities to to run. This is where we can throw another situational, not pre-scripted, wrinkle with JJ under center, acting as our hypothetical Brad Smith in regard to building our offense around in a similar fashion to NY Jet's philosophy. Not only will be have a much more balanced system with JL running an Air Coryell attack, but using JJ in a wildcat will play to our benefit if his is used theoretically as a run threat, but he could open big play potential able to roll the pocket in a bootleg fashion, for example, optimizing his chance at success by forcing the safeties to bite and potentially getting the ball over the head of the safety who may be out of position. Thus, frick it if JJ makes one of his typical to high for Yoa Ming to catch overthrows since the safety will be out of position to make an interception. If JJ were given a chance to make throws off of a PA where players are out of position, the success may breed confidence and there may be a the possibility of him playing to a higher potential. And if he is well coached, if the throw is not there because of good coverage down field, let the young man use to ability to scramble for yardage. Our offense is a bass ackward jalopy for now however. The less efficient QB is still making starts, while the who scores most of the points is given no chance to develop a rhythm. Instead, our whacky-arse coaches the fumble and bumble with current no identity approach to get in the appropriate personnel on 4&6 at Auburn, and force JL to orchestrate yet another crucial 1st down, but the ingenious Wizard give JL an empty backfield, knowing Fairly created havoc all day for JL, and offering no halfback in the backfield for to pick up needed protection to keep the drive alive. I don't give a shite what people say about fans complaining too much about the year, it's ridiculous that we are not given the best opportunity to win because of piss poor game plans and our jalopy of an offense struggling to switch in and out of groupings dependent on specific situations. We need to use our most competent players throughout the game so we can score points, establish a lead, finish games strong, and keep ourselves to come up with miracle wins every week. You can't find magic every week on the way our games are planned. Plain and simple, this falls on Les Miles, and the highest paid OC in the SEC--frick mediocrity--let's play to win!
