Yes, I know when Knight made that comment.

Doubtful.

Can you tell us when and why it was made? Here is a hint...it was not made in the post game press conference. Knight was very impressed with LSU's half court offense in the post game presser. Something changed Knight's mind, but it wasn't because of what happened on the court.

He also pulled Geert from the Neitherlands and Vargas from the Dominican Rep. Should have been able to keep Tito Horford. He almost got Arvydas Sabonis out of USSR.

Wasn't he trying to get some 7' + guy from China named Wang Choo Choo ... Whatever happened there ?

The mavericks drafted him a few years after we couldn't get him and he played a few years in the nba.

Extrapolate John Brady's career at LSU over the years of Daddy Dale and you'd get the exact same results. Would you consider Brady a good coach?

Brady wasn't half the salesman Brown was. Beyond X/O's Brown created an amazing atmosphere around LSU basketball. Watching his teams in the 80's was like watching LSU football now.

It was an awesome time to follow LSU basketball.

just a couple notes:

quote:

LSU won 288 games and had been to only 2 NCAA Tournaments in the 25 years before Dale came. He won 448 games and appeared in 13 NCAA Tournaments.

say what you want about the man, that is unreal.

LSU basketball was a NATIONAL program in the 80's. Ppl who didn't experience it can't believe it but it was.

Dale Brown was far far from perfect. But I find it very interesting that hell 30 years after Brown "went after" the NCAA, people remember and they are finally getting that he was right

Dale was great for LSU basketball! I guess some of u retards haven't followed bb in the last 5 or 6 years. Jones will build this team back & Lsu will be back on the map, will just take a little time.

13 NCAA Tourneys 1 Sweet Sixteen 2 Elite Eights 2 Final Fours That's not mediocre. I'm not calling him an elite NCAA coach, but he was nowhere near mediocre by any standard.

+ 1 ..calling that mediocre is stupid.
he was not elite at Xs and Os but one hell of recruiter and motivator.
