is this really a good comparison?

For what they want to do with him...yes

Percy was a freak though and imo his rookie nfl year showed just how unique he was. I like shep in the "percy role" everyone has created for him, but I am starting to wonder if he or even anyone else is capable of doing what harvin did.

I would like to see Shep get 4-7 carries a game at RB, remember that 75 run.

he doesnt have to be as good as harvin, and he may not
but he has a similar skillset and ability, so its a fair comparison
hopefully we see him breakout in a harvin-esque fashion this year

i don't feel like i am underestimating him, just starting to appreciate what percy did during his time at florida. the guy played in tebow's shadow for 3 years (even when tebow was a freshman he was still all anyone talked about), and i don't think people grasped fully what he was doing on the field.

dude was unreal
its silly for anyone to expect harvin type results from shep, but you can see the similarities

I think Shep is a Harvin, Bush guy. Just get him the ball.

i am just wondering if he can look like this
and still be that elusive?

Until I see Shep do that against SEC defenses week-in, week-out(like Harvin did) I'm going to avoid annointing him a superhero like everyone else.
It's not like Harvin didn't have a similar high school highlight tape. He was pretty much the consensus #1 recruit in 2006.

Percy was listed at 6'1, 188 on Rivals his senior year.
So basically 6'0 180.

I never get tired of watching his HS highlight film.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. I'm just saying it seems foolish to speculate "what could be" at this point with regards to those 2.
I think too many LSU fans place undue expectations/ hype on one player(Shep) and don't give enough credit to another(Harvin)
But not just LSU fans overlooked what Harvin did at Florida. I think the entire country saw how much he meant to that offense while we watched Florida's offense spin its wheels in the mud for most of the year without him.
