bullshite. Ohio State consistently wins more than that since the 12-game schedule came into practice. Texas does it every year. Florida State did it for something like 15 years in a row. Nebraska did it for 30 years in a row. Alabama did it for 20+ years with maybe a couple of exceptions.

The best programs in the nation AVERAGE about 10 wins a season these days. LSU has for the last seven years,

Ok. You bring up some good points. I agree that in the past, teams were true dynasties. However, the parity in college football is at an all-time high. Player exposure is through the roof and kids are playing in highly competitive, organized leagues at young ages. There are more prospects than the big schools can handle, so the talent is trickling down to the smaller places. That is why I think that the "new normal" will be a team running off 4-5 10 win seasons, and then taken a back burner to someone else, unless your in a truly pitiful conference (Boise) or you are just light years ahead of the next best team (OSU).

Look at Texas. Top flight recruits all over the field. Prodigy at QB. Got fricking embarrassed at home by a UCLA that was shut out the week before at home by Stanford.

Look at tOSU. Everyone on this board thinks they are perennially over-rated and in a 2nd-tier conference, so they just do not fit the bill.

Look at UF. They will be destroyed Saturday. They went 8-5 with a Heisman winner at QB, coming off a NC.

Look how far Florida State has fallen. Same with Callahan's Nebraska. Even mighty USC last year and this year.

I am not advocating for Miles, but rather for LSU. You do not need to lower your expectations. I expect to win a NC every year. I certainly hope the team expects to win every game they play, and by default, the NC, or else why would they even strap on the fricken helmet? However, when things have not gone our way for a whole 2 seasons, I am not going to give up on 2010 or 2011.

We need some changes on offense in order to take this team to another level in 2010, and that looks unlikely. However, if the passing game improves marginally, I like this team's chances in every game this year.
