From an overall talent standpoint (as long as we are not mauled with injuries) we have as good of a chance as anybody to repeat.
The keys for us to win another NC, in my opinion
will TEAM MORALE
Team morale fluctuates up and down during a game just like the stock market. We will need players to step up and replace Dorsey, Flynn and Hester being team leaders. It plays such a huge role.
THE 06 LSU - FLORIDA game is a prime example of how a vortex can ensue without quality team morale.
THE 07 LSU - FLORIDA game is a prime example of how a rally can ensue with quality team morale.
COACHES - play a critical role too to keep team moving forward and advancing. I can only wonder if General Patton had been a college football today rather than a World War II General, what that would have been like. If you anything about Patton, one of the reason why he was so feared by the Germans is because his troops were a well oiled machine, trained, and abundantly disciplined and motivated. Miles will have to make it happen

I would not bet my house on LSU. That being said, I would not bet my house on any team. LSU has a better chance, IMHO< than most would believe.
The key to the season is getting past Auburn. It the Tigers do that, split with Florida and Georgia, and win the SEC Championship. I expect that they will be favored to repeat as nat'l Champs.
If we beat Auburn, you'll see the media, and many pessimists here on this board, jump on the BCS Championship prediction bandwagon.
I freely admit to being an optimist, but I do not think my prediction is unrealistic. I've been closely watching LSU Football for 50 years now. I like the way the program is running!

Ask the Bammers. We don't have a prayer now that we're running out of Saban recruits.

i really do believe we are one of 5 times that could be lifting that crystal ball in january. Just look at our talent on the lines i'll use the old cliche right now the game will be decided in the trenches. Our quarterback whomever it is IMHO will be more physically gifted than flynn was and or offense will overall be better than last year which is a big statement considering they were amazing last year. That leaves cornerbacks they have the speed to keep up with any receiver in the nation, if they can have the hands to compliment their speed then #1 defense in the nation. No other team in the nation can say they have more talent on both sides of the ball as we do. Repeat!
