Aranda has not been playing to his secondary's strengths

The LSU defense looked fine when playing zone coverage and making their reads against GaSo but Texas completely exposed the secondary. NWST was even able to expose them by shifting pre-snap and confusing our defense's assignment and alignment.
The LSU defense is riddled with elite athletes that can match up with any offensive players in the country. I understand that Aranda wants to run coverage shells that are more advanced but our guys just can't do it. There's no legitimate reason that a NWST receiver should be wide open against LSU's defense.
We finally saw a shift in the second half and Aranda ran more cover 1 with man underneath and it completely suffocated NWST's passing offense. He then would occasionally go back to his zone scheme and LSU would give up a big play or a touchdown (or almost a touchdown). This reminds me of Kevin Steele in 2015 and his unwillingness to change his scheme even though a year prior Chavis turned the defense around running man coverage and shut down some quality teams.
If Aranda doesn't adjust quicker or the secondary doesn't come up to speed with what he's trying to do we're gonna continually get into shootouts with higher level teams.
/end rant

Well i do think this defense is better playing man right now. Probably need to get competant playing zone moving forward though.

You don't recruit the best athletes in the country at secondary then keep them in zone coverage.

What does this even mean?
Fehoko - Hawaii
Shelvin - Louisiana
Farrell - Alabama
Thornton - Texas
Clark - Louisiana
Phillips - Tennessee
Stevens - Tennessee
Stingley - Louisiana
Fulton - Louisiana
Vincent - Texas
Delpit - Texas
Lewis/Harris - Louisiana
This, in some combination, was your majority 11 on the field last night

Aranda hasn't been playing at all. He's been coaching.
