it took Charlie Mac, LSU's all-time winningest coach a full nine seasons to get to the same spot Les is at barely 6.5 years in?

Miles deserves the praise for maintaining the program at an elite level but Charlie Mac was no slouch either.

It was rarely more than 12 games and more often just 11 (including the bowls) then - LSU has played 13 games thrice and 14 games once in the 6 years under Les.

The additional games don't explain all of the difference, though. Miles isn't just coaching more games, he's winning a higher percentage of them. Miles will be 70-17 on Saturday. By the time Mac got to 70 wins, he already had 23 losses and 4 ties.

As I explained in a later post. It was to point out that different eras have different circumstances- you won't get any dissension from me regarding elevating Miles to the #1 spot.

To think that Les Miles could have a 76-17 record this year if LSU runs the table. Absolutely sick ! Who else would be your daddy ?

McClendon just flat out lost games he shouldn't have almost every year, even more so than Miles.
It's true McClendon lost some he should have won. Saban did too. I suspect you think Miles should have won every game.
