22 vs 23, what changed

Last year was fools gold. We should have been terrible and I expected 2 rough years as BK attempted to pull us out of the horrible roster management we were left in. However everything he did last worked. From the transfer portal, to rolling a couple freshman out there. It all worked and it masked our real issues. We had no depth and we’d have to do it again next year. It’s why we tailed off last year.

All the things that worked last year, we whiffed on this year. Transfer portal guys were all misses. corners, ends, LB, safeties. Only hit was Jefferson. Combined with Masson appearing to just be a miss, not knowing what to do with Perkins and the unfortunate situation with Greg Brooks. Nothing worked like it did in 22 so our true colors are now showing.

Staff changes have to be made, he’s going to have to ramp up recruiting and be more proficient in the portal. I know most are calling for his head, they were also calling for it last the first quarter of the FS game last year so……but he really was handed a bad program. I think year 3 should be where he’s going to have to show progress. He did say he was a year off we just didn’t want to hear it.
