Personally, I think it is appealing for rb prospects to play in a system where several backs split carries. Less wear and tear on them and also the ability to get playing time early because we do play all the backs.

This is becoming more important in today's NFL. Many teams are going to a rb by committee. Carolina (D. Williams, J. Stewart), New Orleans (Deuce? or Thomas, Bush).

Being the main guy is not a big deal these days. If you have talent and you're in the 3-deep at running back you will get noticed at most places.

There are countless examples that support this point:

USC with numerous 5 star RBs, not to mention Reggie Bush and LenDale White before that

Auburn with Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, and Brandon Jacobs

Minnesota with Laurence Maroney and Marion Barber

Arkansas with Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis

Miami with Willis McGahee, Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, and Najeh Davenport

Cal with J.J. Arrington, Marshawn Lynch, and Justin Forsett

LSU with Joseph Addai, Domanick Davis, and LaBrandon Toefield

LSU with Kevin Faulk, Rondell Mealey, and Cecil Collins

Florida State with Lorenzo Booker, Leon Washington, and Greg Jones

Old-school example: Oklahoma State with Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders
