point is, USC fan, you are counting on way too many prospects that are at best 50/50 right now.
No you misunderstand. I am not saying we land them all, as we will not. I think we will get at least half of those guys and possibly more.

Everything I have seen has Jeffcoat's top 3 as OU, USC adn ASU. It seemed that his dad prefers USC, he prefers OU, and ASU is getting into the mix as that is where is dad played. Not exactly sure how they fit in. I nver heard that Texas was a serious contender.

Then you haven't been paying attention. He's made multiple trips to Texas for both basketball and football. The last public statements he made his top 6 were Texas, Oklahoma, USC, ASU, Houston and Florida. He's been very tight-lipped but the consensus has always been that Texas is a major player for him, and quite possibly the leader.

I would be very surprised if he ended up at Texas. Very surprised.

A minute ago you didn't even know that he was considering Texas, so I'll take your opinion with a large grain of salt. Nobody else would be surprised if he picked Texas.

I do not think he is seriously considering Texas. Sometimes it is easier for a star player to keep the home state team in the mix, even though he is never going to attend.

Care to share how you came to this conclusion in the last half hour? That may turn out to be true at the end of the day, but I don't think there's anything factual out there to support this.
FWIW, I don't think he's seriously considering USC. He's a "Texas" type kid; he spends his weekends hunting and fishing and he's very humble, not your average USC type. That and considering the state of USC's basketball program right now, I can't see him ending up L.A. I think this is a Texas-Oklahoma battle all the way and that's what everyone close to him has been saying for a long time.
Here's what he had to say about Texas yesterday:
quote:
"Texas is a great school with great tradition," Jeffcoat said. "They've had some great players like Brian Orakpo, and I get along well with their coaches, like coach (Oscar) Giles, coach (Will) Muschamp and coach (Bobby) Kennedy, who's been doing my recruitment."

Smokescreen. His dad wants him at USC and that counts for a lot. Though in the end he is probably going to OU. Instate papers are alwasy going to ask about UT. When he is out of state he has not really mentioned UT as a possibiltiy. That counts for more. I really do not think Texas is really in contention.
In the end if he does not come to USC, it is no big deal as we are loaded at DE.

Just heard that DT Shariff Floyd is going to take an official visit to USC. Landing Floyd would be a major coup, though as of now we are decided underdogs.

Link?
Seems to contradict this:

"I just know one thing, I’m not going to put any pressure on Jackson and when he decides on a school, it is going to be his decision."

It is no secret that his dad wants him at USC. Though as he said he may just offer his opinion then support his son to go whereever he wishes. I woudl not be shocked to see him follow his dad's footsteps and land at ASU though.

So, you'd be shocked if he ended up at Texas but not ASU? Personally, I feel the exact opposite.

Yep. Though I would have it 1. OU 2. USC 3. ASU

I think the kids and their parents are seeing that Pete Carroll is a overrated gameday coach...see the last two years. I for one would not allow my kid to play in that crime riddled city of L.A.

LOL you are nuts. Look at the 3rd quarter scores of USC games. you can see the halftime adjustments are better than anyone else in the nation, and it is not even close nor debatable.

Yet once again, an invitation to the the National Championship Game eluded you.
Go figure.
