Has to be someone the Tigers have a legit chance at and in the running for. This excludes who we already have a commitment for. Please let me know your thoughts or what your list looks like

1. Keion Joyner- Well documented need for LB's right now. Joyner is the best in the business and can start and make an impact from Day 1. No brainer here. Steele has been working on him since he signed btw dotted lines. I could give many more reasons, but will stop here.

2. Rashard Lawrence- Top prospect in the state, so cant let him get away. Also, need to get all these stud DT's in LA as we have to replenish the depth coming up with no DT's in 2015. (Joyner is ahead because of bigger need at LB)

3. Willie Allen- Arguable the top prospect in the State (depending on recruiting source). Though we racked up at OL in 2015, must continue to build depth. Lost the last big OL prospect in LA to Bama (Cam Robinson). If we loose Allen then it would be to Bama again. We just cannot let this happen!

4. Michael Divinity- Top LB in the state, so we cannot let him get away with the dire need for LB's right now.

5. Emmitt Gooden- He has expressed that he loves LSU, and how awesome would it be to go and steal from the Vols back yard even though Chavis is gone and that was supposedly his territory! Need to build up momentum in TN again as Butch Jones has quietly been moving up the charts in recruiting. This would put a halt to his momentum. Plus we need a impact DE as I am not sold on this position right now.

Close, but didn't quite make the cut:

Eric Monroe- Would be great since the Faggies are our competitor, but we are fine at DB. Still a nice piece to add.

Jeffery McCulloch- I live in Houston and he plays in my backyard. The guy is a beast. Always great to steal from the Lonestar state, and he is a LB which is a huge need.

Kristian Fulton- Not a position we need, but he is a true lockdown corner and we are DBU and will get on the field early no matter what. Should not be loosing these types of players.

Glen Logan/ Stephon Taylor- I will take either, and don't think there is much separation. If we get Lawrence, then they both may fill in for Lawrence and Alexander and start after they bolt for NFL or get injured.

solid list.

although I would probably switch out willie allen with the gary kid from NJ.

not a knock on allen, I would love to have him. but with the guys we brought in on the o line last recruiting class, I think DE is more of a need

Can you rephrase "not making the cut" to "rounding out the top ten" or something like that? What you have there just seems a little diminishing somehow.

Not making the cut= Not making the top 5 ( I just chose 5 as you have to cut it off somewhere). I still however wanted to recognize those that I was torn between and had a hard time keeping off list. Same difference

Devin White and Lawrence are important, and I get it. Am I not overestimating or exaggerating our need for LB's? How can Joyner not be ahead of them, we could literally not have enough depth. We are already thin and will more than likely loose all of our starters to graduation and NFL after 2015. We could literally have 4 LBs left on the roster after 2015 including Voorhies, whom we had to convert from DB.

How can a RB whom we had a great class for last year (Guice, Brossette and Ducre) and Fournette through 2016 be more important?

Take care of the middle of the defense with a DT and MLB, and the rest will take care of itself.

How is Willie allen not on everyones list? He's the only tackle prospect in the state and if we don't get him he's going to the sec west. SOUND FAMILIAR?

Agreed, but is he as good a Joyner? I would assume he cannot play both ways.....the last thing a RB wants to do after carrying the ball 15 times a game is go back in and play LB
