Because qbs get hurt and/or transfer out all the time. You ALWAYS need competent qb play.

Nuss is likely going to start in 2022, 2023, and 2024. He isn't going to transfer or go anywhere else.

Howard is going to start in 2025 & 2026. He isn't going anywhere because he is a legacy tiger.

Hence, that means any QB dumb enough to commit to play for LSU in this current 2023 recruiting cycle will have to wait until their fifth redshirt senior season in 2027 just to have their first opportunity to start, provided they win the job and with only that one year to play.

Would you commit to play for LSU under those circumstances in this current 2023 recruiting cycle? Hell no, you wouldn't! So stop expecting Kelly to get a QB to commit in this current 2023 recruiting cycle because it isn't going to happen.

If Purdue is telling him he is their man, and he’s seen both QB rooms (LSU&Purdue) Collins has to know the easiest way to the field is thru Purdue. Now going all the way up there and being an 18yr kid all alone, it’s tough he will get homesick fast if things don’t go his way.
