quote:
“These defensive backs are athletic and beyond smart, so the big thing for a quarterback is using your eyes,” Brennan said. “With the safety or cornerback reading your eyes, knowing you’re going to one side, you have to be smart at this level and anticipate throws. The speed is a lot different.”

Brennan obviously gets what's expected of him at the next level. You can't just chunk the ball down field and hope for the best, it now becomes a mental game of cat and mouse against the best athletes on the field and he did it all week in Orlando. As I read where he said "your receivers are rarely open at this level, you have to throw them open." Which means you have to be consistently accurate and put the ball where only your guy can catch it.. And BTW we hear a lot about Brennan's size or lack there of but to be honest there were a lot of DBs in Orlando that looked dang close to Brennan's size especially in the legs and I never hear anything about them being to small to compete in the sec. Anyway, Brennan will play with his brain, his lightning fast release and his pin point accuracy and will put on the adequate weight to play soon..don't doubt it!!

The more i learn about and hear from Brennan the more i like him...i really think this guys going to be a tremendous qb and be the pioneer in the changing of the culture of QB perception at LSU....he seems very football smart, unselfish, willing to learn, humble, loyal and hardworking...i CAN NOT wait to watch this kid play. Orgeron and all LSU fans are very fortunate that he stuck with us through everything.

Yes, smarts and talent is what makes a really good QB and that's what makes that kid at USC so special, and he was a freshman doing what he did yesterday against Penn State. If Brennan turns out to be half as good as that kid LSU has a winner. That kid anticipated his receivers going to a certain spot and dropped the ball on them like a magician. Unreal is his arm talent and skills! The pros can't wait til he leaves USC.
and with regards to the difference in weight between Brennan and the DB's, he is almost 6'5" and the DB's are 5'10" to 6'2" 3" at the most. And they won't be taking hits on a consistent basis like he will. Being 6'5" and 180 in the SEC is not a good thing, he'll get broken up. Moffitt will have a job to do on him before he comes close to seeing the field.
