Word is Copeland may decommit because we have another big DE recruit leaning our way. T J Stripling has anounced he is going to take an official to UT.

Exactly...I love to follow recruiting, but I have seen to many five stars do nothing under the Fulmer regime to follow the rankings too much.

If the coaches can prove to be "good" coaches... TENN will be a player in the east. TENN impressed me with the quick class they put together last year and the class this year is pretty legit. Im not sold on Kiffin yet... but those sob's can recruit

So do you guys think Stripling will sign with Knoxville? The UGA guys still feel confident about him. I personally have no info on Stripling.

I think we will be worse next year, hope I'm wrong, but we should be competing for the east by 2011. I would venture to say Kiffin gets until 2012-13 to win one. Even if this experiment fails miserably the UT job will be looking pretty atractive to any possible candidates.

I've learned to never be surprised with recruiting in regards to this staff. After Brown, Jackson, and NuKeese all switched from solid commitments to the vols last year. This staff has the fan base believing they can pull just about anyone.

I'll tell you what, there are a large number of UT fans who think we may be recruiting a little to well when compared to our performance on the field the past few years.

“I am committed to Georgia, but I am still listening to other schools too,” said the four-star on Scout.com. “I am planning to visit Tennessee, Florida, and Ohio State for official visits." Quote from T J from scout.

ED O is doing some shady things... Ill guarantee you that. If TENN would be less vocal.. theyd have a lesser chance of getting caught. theyre ruffling too many feathers, but then again, thats what is gaining them interest from recruits. Double edged sword IMO

The gumps are just looking for the chance to give UT some payback. Kiffin better be careful.

I just like to believe all these Florida kids who grew up Bucs fans want to play for Monte Kiffin's Defense.

UT fans should be more than a little concerned with O. It has already been pointed out that he was turned in for minors and possible violations by several SEC coaches while at Ole Miss. With UT making a some enemies in LA and Florida with the way they went about getting a couple of players, pissing Saban off while plucking one of his assistants, and Kiffin's recent media comments aimed at UGA, all eyes will be on him. When you make that much noise, it gets attention, both good and bad. If any coach in the league gets wind of anything, you can be sure they won't hesitate to drop a dime on the Vols. Just ask Memphis basketball fans about this. The NCAA decided they were going after Cal, and they camped out in Memphis for a year. Ultimately, they didn't pin anything on Cal, and they didn't get that much on Memphis considering how long they spent digging through everything they could get their hands on. In the end, though, they found something that would stick. 99% of D1 programs have something in the closet that can get them in trouble, the NCAA just doesn't have time to investigate it all. They have made it clear that they don't like brash coaches who brag about their many exploits all over TV. Rebels get branded and watched, and other than Bobby Knight, who went out of his way to stay clean, they all get caught eventually. Better hope Kiffin and O don't make their way onto the list.

If Meyer had his way Kiffin would be on their list tomorrow.

Yes, so far Meyer only has his way with refs. Next step is the NCAA.

If Luc does commit it wont be for another week..his USC trip is this weekend i believe and who is going to risk a free trip to cali..noone thats who! But it does look to be a UF-UT race, the sooner the announcement the better for the vols imo.

As for LSU getting Maclin congrats, but i'll take Willis,Smith(#1 to Maclins #5 in state) and Miller over him...being #5 in Tenn is like being #50 in Florida it's not a whole lot to brag about in comparison with other states.

And finally if Anthony Johnson is so obviously going to decommit then why the hell was he at the Bama game in a UT t-shite

Probably the same reason Trovon Reed was at a game in a bama t-shirt?

If you put your faith in what t-shirts or socks these recruits wear at certain games then you know very little about this process.
