because Scout rankings are trash and Rivals gets the closest to being what most consider "accurate"

If I am Ely or Rivers I see an opportunity for early playing time. Zach Lee is going to miss some time due to injury. Acting like being an ace on LSU's pitching staff and playing QB in the SEC every year is an easy and safe thing may backfire. The injuries to Zach Lee may be minor but you have to figure he is eventually going to have to miss some time taking such a high degree of risk.

Some rumors going around saying Ely may commit to Bama tommorrow.No one has anything concrete in regards to him having a Bama offer but the rumor is going around.

Yea but all the threads about it on the Bama boards were whacked, and the thread here was whacked... I figured more people would be talking about it if it was true

That sucks. LSU seemed to want Ely pretty bad. Maybe LSU caught wind of it and took Rivers, a kid bama passed on, so they could take the guy we had been on for while. Ouch.

Bama makes more sense to me. Say what you want, but these kids seem to avoid competition at all possible costs. Us taking Rivers may sway him elsewhere, or we caught wind of the possibility and took Rivers.
