3* S Bryce Thornton is grossly underrated

At 5’10” - 185 lbs., Bryce Thornton is an undersized safety that can flat-out ball in all 3 phases of the game. He’s a ball-hawking FS with a knack for forcing TOs, and he plays with the physicality of a LB. On specials, this kid is an electrifying punt/kick returner that is a threat to go the distance every time. And he can be a weapon offensively, as he has the goods to separate with the hands to be a reliable pass catcher. (BT’s junior season highlights are must see - linked below).

But despite all that talent, Bryce Thorton is only ranked as the No. 498 overall prospect by the 247sports composite. After receiving a slew of big-time offers in the last 45-days (Alabama, LSU, Florida, FSU, etc.), however, it’s all but a certainty that a well-deserved bump is in store for his ranking. (BT’s 247sports profile is linked below).

Regardless of Thorton‘s ranking, the point is that this kid is a badass FS prospect, and the Alpharetta, GA native recently visited LSU (unofficially on 4/5/22). I haven’t heard/read any update on how the visit went, but I’m hoping it was a big success that leads to us being one of his finalist (Top-5 to be announced on April 26th, after trimming from his complete list of 33 offers).

Can you truly be underrated with offers from Bama, Florida, Auburn and Clemson?

The term “underrated” is a specific reference to his rating/ranking being lower than what it should be.
Really has nothing to do with the other schools that have offered him a scholarship.
I understand your point, and it is valid for the most part

Just shows what we already know that recruiting services wait on the big time offers to come in then they adjust their rankings accordingly none of them know shite

Yep, you are correct.
By the way, check out this kids HUDL in the OP.
This kid's the closest thing I've ever seen to the Honey Badger.
