re: Why are all refrigerator ice makers so terrible?

I feel this. I have a high dollar Samsuck, 3 replacements under warranty and extended warranty, I finally gave up and got a small countertop icemaker for $100.

My appliance repair guy said any icemaker that resides in the refrigerator section of the unit is going to experience the same issue, regardless of brand. And a lot of through the door dispenser refrigerators have this design. I miss my 1992 Whirlpool Gold that I lost to a lightening strike. Bulletproof, even sitting on my patio.
