Keep an eye on your yard. You can see them moving dirt on the surface at times. Then shove a water hose in there and let them swim, or drown… I fought them for awhile, but the water hose worked.

I have these bastards from time to time as well. I tried some traps that drive a spike down in their tunnel to kill them without success.

What worked for me was some poisoned peanuts that I got at tractor supply. You have to be sure nothing can eat those but their intended target, though.

I also saw some smoke bombs that produce toxic smoke that I would like to try!

We have a lousy neighbor a few doors down that lets these fester. I get at least one per year. Spike traps work great. Trap the longer straighter tunnels, not the short curvy ones. Short ones may be single use hunting tunnels while long ones are re-used for travel.
The pros will flood or gas them out but that’s only because they can’t be there for a couple days checking traps. Please don’t poison your yard if you have neighbors.
