Cursed with trailing daisy

The original owners of the house planted trailing daisy (yellow dot) ground cover around a tree in my backyard. The tree is now gone, thanks to Ida, but the groundcover remains. How best to eradicate it without killing other plants and without poisoning my soil against sodding zoysia in spring over that spot?
